Unity Station
Traffic Control Center
The Turbolift doors opened to what used to be Traffic Control for the traffic that occasionally came to Unity when it was either going to or coming from Deep Space Nine. He held the tricorder up and the amount of cobalt dylisentide in the air was astounding. He looked over some of the burned out consoles, there was a combadge frozen into wall, welded either by heat or by sheer physics of the blast. Liam then saw something that puzzled him, a single monitor that its display screen had not been obliterated. There was something faint burnt into the screen. He sighed a little, turning his head to one of the Damage Control Engineers, he spoke up. "Ensign let's try to restore power to this station, maybe use a tricorder's battery as a power source? Lets see if we can't get the blessed thing to boot up?"
After making sure that the station was fully locked down Samm was in the traffic control center were the bomb had exploded, She and
Lt Rourke was there to investigate and find out the course of the explosion. Samm couldn't believe her luck it was her first day as the acting chief of security and she couldn't help but feel abit overwhelmed. "Talk about being thrown into the deep end " she thought to herself. Samm then smiled to herself because she knew she worked better when under pressure, just then Lt Rourke motioned for samm to come over "Lieutenant, I think there is something useful on this console. What do you think ?" Samm walked straight over to were the Lt was stood noticing that the console looked to have been untouch by the blast. "Well Lt I have to admit this is a surprise how is it possible everything in this room as been destroyed by the blast but yet this seems to have escaped any damaged lets hope that the ensign can gets the power to the console up and running hopefully it will be able to give us a better understanding as to what has happened here today Lt." Samm said.
Samm was pleased to have Lt Rourke working along side her as he seemed to think like she did, he was all about getting the job done which is was she was all about.
"While Ensign MacGoo over there works on reconnecting the power to the station.."
Liam pulled out his tricorder.
"Do you have any experience with explosives.. I mean all of this smacks of something small time homemade bombs, but look at this damage, it is a surgical strike?!"
As he said that he began to scan around trying to cut through the interference of things. He then had a thought and like most thoughts he said this one outloud.
"I have heard of so many different groups, The Bajoran Isolationist movement, Obsidian Order, Tal Shiar... But does any of this reek of tactics they would use?"
Liam stroked his chin as he scanned around more and more.
"As to my thoughts of the console, I think we were meant to find it. I mean there is so such thing as the perfect crime. Nothing is ever one hundred percent foolproof. Its either that or HPFM. At least thats what my ex wife would have called it."
He then tapped his combadge.
=^= Rourke to Operations, The leftenant and I have found a fully working console and a combadge lodged into the blast site wall. With the appropriate permissions I would like to turn over the Combadge to Intelligence and have the console moved to science lab four so I can atempt some data extraction?"
